Demeter, Goddess of Grain, Nurturer & Mother, represents the archetype of nourishment to others, whether it is physical, psychological, or spiritual, the most generous goddess. Inspired by Greek mythology, Hymn to Demeter is a story about love, relationships, family bonds, grief, loss, and a renewal of hope of humanity. Demeter gave human beings two gifts: the return to life personified by Persephone, the cultivation of grain and the fundamental values of freedom and equality, in harmony with the natural world and the environment. Various studies demonstrate that humans possess an innate tendency to seek connections with nature. Edward Osborne Wilson, an American biologist, naturalist and writer, introduced the biophilia hypothesis whereby connections that human beings seek are deeply rooted in our biology.
Join me into my world of fantasy where Greek Mythology and the Natural World intertwine, a fusion of images created to bring harmony and celebrate the beauty of our natural world through mythology. The series Beyond Mythology, the Myths of Nature will be showcased from 11 until 26 June 2022 in the most suitable venue where Art meets Nature at Villa Carlotta in Lake Como, whose cultural heritage is unique for its fusion of history, art and nature to Love Art is to Love Nature.
The exhibition is organized by Tablinum Cultural Management in Bellagio, whose innovative strategies are designed to combine traditional artistic knowledge with the complexity of the changes taking place in today’s cultural world, together with the support of the Canadian Council for the Arts, Canada’s public art funder, which contributes to the vibrancy of creative and diverse arts and literary scene - Bringing Arts to Life - through grants to Canadian artists & arts organizations.
