Every day, I feel grateful to have moved to Manoir Cavagnal over a year ago. Nestled in the heart of Hudson, this welcoming residence offers the best of both worlds: a peaceful environment surrounded by nature and the convenience of village life. Located on Main Road, it allows me to walk almost everywhere and fully enjoy the beauty and charm of this wonderful community.
The residents of Manoir Cavagnal come from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. Like me, many have reached a stage in life where they have reinvented themselves and embraced new opportunities. While some may wonder whether moving into a seniors' residence means slowing down, my experience has been quite the opposite. Thanks to the caring and dedicated staff, especially Paula Mesa, whose warmth and positivity brighten our days, residents receive support whenever needed. Paula is always ready to help, whether with practical matters or simply offering a reassuring presence. Another important member of the Manoir team is Sylvain, who manages maintenance with professionalism and care. His commitment to the residents' comfort and well-being helps create the warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes Manoir Cavagnal feel like home.
Of course, home is also where the heart is, and I am fortunate to share my life with my partner, Sylvain. Like me, he enjoys meeting people and staying active in the community. Friendship and meaningful connections are important to both of us, and we cherish the vibrant social life that Hudson offers.
Although I am no longer twenty, I remain an artist at heart and continue to pursue my passions. I am an active member of Artistes Hudson Artists (AHA), enjoy cooking, and often have our friends over for dinner. At 71 years old, life still feels full of possibilities, creativity, and joy.
Opened in 1978 by the Lakeshore Legion Housing Association, Manoir Cavagnal has provided affordable and comfortable housing for seniors for nearly fifty years. Its name recalls the historic Cavagnal Concession and Pierre de Rigaud de Vaudreuil de Cavagnal, the last Governor General of New France. Today, Manoir Cavagnal is much more than a residence—it is a vibrant and caring community where seniors enjoy friendship, support, and an active lifestyle while remaining connected to the heart of Hudson.
