Mireille Youssef: A President Who Inspired Change

Mireille Youssef: A Leader Who Revived the Spirit of AHA

I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Mireille Youssef, the outgoing President of Artistes Hudson Artists (AHA), who will complete her second term after two years of dedicated service. When I first met Mireille at a monthly meeting, I was struck by her warmth, humanity, and passion—qualities that have truly revitalized the collective.

After retiring from the corporate world, Mireille devoted herself fully to painting, attending workshops and online trainings. In 2023, she stepped into the presidency following the resignation of Vice-President Mona Turner, who had been filling both roles. From the start, Mireille focused on building a more dynamic and inclusive collective. She launched a member survey, revised outdated by-laws, created new executive roles to share responsibilities, and streamlined meetings.

As she prepares to leave office, Mireille hopes to see AHA continue growing, with more members and volunteers joining to strengthen the organization. Her leadership leaves behind a legacy of renewal, collaboration, and creative energy.

I invite you to meet Mireille Youssef and the AHA artists during the upcoming Art Expo. Buying art is more than acquiring a beautiful piece—it’s a meaningful way to support artists, sustain creativity, and preserve cultural diversity. Art enriches our lives, inspiring reflection and offering experiences that resonate both emotionally and intellectually.
