Each morning I rise with gratitude, knowing I will step into my sanctuary, a place where my soul rejoices and my spirit merges with the natural world. Here, I discover my truest self, in communion with the essence of divine beauty. This sacred connection nourishes me, inspires my art, and allows me to share light not only within my own life but with those around me.
To be in nature is to touch the very core of my being. Words fall short of describing the wonder of feeling at one with the living world: the trees whispering secrets as they sway in the wind, the birds lifting their voices in songs of pure joy, all bound together in a harmony that asks for nothing but presence. In these moments, I experience the unbearable lightness of being, a profound awareness of life’s fragility and preciousness—an awareness deepened by the loss of dear friends who have journeyed on to another realm.
That is why my heart is filled with joy to know that Sandy Beach has been saved. The town’s decision to purchase the land—shaped by tireless community advocacy, ecological studies, and a commitment to preserve public access—ensures this sanctuary will endure for generations. It is a victory for the values we hold most dear: a shared haven of natural beauty that defines our community. This is why I love Hudson, for here the spirit of place and the spirit of people come together in harmony with what truly matters.
